Trading Shed
Until the end of June you can still email in to info@shepherdshillallotments.co.uk to arrange a purchase at the shed and Annie will try to accommodate you. From Sunday 5th July we are going to try opening the shed ( though NOT the Montenotte Gate for the moment) to any of you who need purchases. We will open from 11 - 12 every Sunday morning until further notice. And Annie's individual sales will cease. Covid-19 advice still stands and you will not be able to come into the shed. We will serve you from the door while we ask you to  maintain distance from others who may be waiting, and form an orderly queue. To pay we much prefer cheques but will accept cash.

Mini Plant Sale
The next one will be on Sunday 5th July 10-12. Would anyone who would like to take part as a seller at this one please email Annie at griffiths.annie@gmail.com  asap but certainly by midnight on Thursday 2nd July with plot number, name and what you will have for sale. In order to maintain social distancing, where two plots are operating very close together we may ask people to stagger their sales i.e. one plot from 10 - 11 and the other 11 - 12. Annie will coordinate this and get back to you before sending out the final programme.

Potatoes for Food Hubs
The potatoes that we planted on the upper area of plot 15 are going to Octopus Community Network via one of our allotment holders, Fran Smith, who volunteers with Octopus. It is based in Islington and it has been providing cooked meals and food parcels through 4 local food hubs to hundreds of vulnerable people each week. Fran says that getting fresh food donations is getting tougher and is much needed. Any fresh food donations would be welcome. Please contact Fran on 07410 948 885 or email her at fran.gipannilotus@outlook.com if you think you can contribute spare fresh produce from your plot. You can read about Octopus on the Octopus Community Network website

Reminders
  • In the last newsletter we mentioned that the trading shed wheelbarrows are in a poor state of repair and some have been removed from service.  At present we have no plans to replace them, but would welcome any offers from tenants to donate a second hand or new barrow to the trading shed.  If you would like to donate write into info@shepherdhillallotments.co.uk
  • Please remember that tenants are responsible for ensuring clear paths around their plots, and particularly at this time of year do make sure paths are free of overhanging brambles etc.
  • Please do not dump any rubbish anywhere on the site.
  • Don’t forget that the tenants handbook contains lots of useful information and answers to many frequently asked questions.  And includes guidance on maintaining good neighbourly relations e.g. remembering that every tenant has the right to the peaceful enjoyment of their allotment plot at all times, free from noise, nuisance and smoke.
Social Shed/plot 15
The exciting news is that work is about to recommence on building our new social space next week.  We will be sending out a separate newsletter about this shortly.  Please be aware that over the next few weeks it may be necessary to close the car park at certain times when there are materials being delivered.

Happy summer gardening!

Yours
Julie, Annie, Trevor, Juliet, Gary, Jill, Ian, and Nick (co-opted - Treasurer).
