Next week’s AGM – Make it a date
A reminder that our AGM will be held next Tuesday 24th November at 7pm on Zoom.  We are hoping for a good turnout for our first ever online AGM, so please do attend if you can.  What better way to spend a lockdown November evening?! As well as hearing what’s been achieved on site this year and how money has been spent, we hope to have a lively discussion and get your ideas and feedback on future plans for 2021. The business part of the meeting will last no more than an hour and will be followed by an entertaining and informative talk from Esther Coles on beekeeping and the important roles bees play on our allotment and how we can help.

So we can get an idea of numbers please let us know if you're planning on attending by emailing info@shepherdshillallotments.co.uk

Papers for the AGM will shortly be available on the homepage of the website.  A short bio of those standing for the committee this year will be added when nominations close on Saturday 21st November.

The link to join the Zoom AGM will be emailed to you on the morning of Tuesday 24th November.

Another shed fire and vandalism on site
Many of you will already have heard that sadly yet another shed was burnt to the ground on the night of 6th November.  Our thanks again to those who helped clear up the debris from this latest incident.  There have been various other reports of vandalism - shed and greenhouse glass panes smashed, furniture broken etc.

We have once again surveyed the perimeter of the site and identified areas where overhanging branches could be aiding intruders.   We will cut these back where we can, and we are also investigating raising the height of the perimeter fence along by the playing field (we first need to liaise with Haringey Council).

Additionally, we are in touch with CREOS (Crouch End Open Spaces), Shepherds Cot Trust, Highgate Wood School, the local neighbourhood watch and residents’ association, Haringey Allotment Manager, and the local neighbourhood police officer, to discuss what coordinated action can be taken to try and reduce vandalism in the area.

Please stay vigilant, and report any incidents on your plot to us at info@shepherdshillallotments.co.uk

A reminder
Don’t forget that if you are considering giving up your plot, you must give notice before December 1st to avoid being charged rent for 2021.

And a thank you
This message from Jo Sheehan: Thank you for all your donations of coats and jackets and food products. A fantastic response. I have been busy sorting them out into children's, men's and women's.  I've had many requests from those in need of clothes already. If you would like to donate, please leave them in the shed on plot 16, where there is a large bag.  I'll keep this going for the next few weeks.

Yours
Julie, Annie, Trevor, Juliet, Gary, Jill, Ian, and Nick (co-opted - Treasurer).
