Grand opening of the Barn update - POSTPONED
With the latest announcements about the delay in lifting restrictions we have unfortunately had to defer our opening event and have rescheduled it for Sunday 1st August 3.00 – 5.30pm.  Make it a date in your diaries. More details to follow in the July newsletter.
We’ve had a number of reports of people finding raw meat left by foxes on their plots.  This could be coming from neighbouring houses and bins, but could all tenants make sure they do not bring raw meat to feed foxes onto the site as it is a significant health risk.
Trading Shed
A reminder that the shed is open only for one hour on a Sunday from 11-12 until further notice.
Give and Take Forum on the website
A reminder to make use of the Give and Take forum.  This is an easy and quicker way to advertise than writing into info@.  Follow these steps:
1. Make sure you are logged in to the website (only registered users can post messages). To log in click on login in the top L corner and follow the instructions if you are not already registered or have forgotten your password.
2. Click on the ‘Forum’ tab.
3. Click on ‘Give and Take’ and then ‘post a new message’.  Give details, including a contact number and/or email.
4. Once an item you have advertised has found a home, please post an update message informing others the item has gone.
You can change your settings so you receive notifications of any new messages on the Forum – to do this click on your name in the top L corner once you are logged in and then select ‘your account’.  Then click ‘email preferences’ then tick the box ‘Shepherds Hill Allotments: all notifications’ and then ‘save’.
Use of power tools on site
A reminder to be aware of noise pollution when using strimmers and lawnmowers.  Please do not use power tools after 1pm on a weekend or bank holidays.
Site inspection
As reported in the last newsletter, Haringey have told us that site inspections will be resuming soon.  With such long waiting lists we and Haringey are under increasing pressure to ensure all plots are being well cultivated, so please make sure your plot is ‘inspection-fit’, and do let us know if you are having problems or struggling to maintain your plot.
