Tree Survey
We have recently carried out a comprehensive survey of trees on the site, identifying those that are overhanging plots along the site boundary and causing problems, and oversized fruit and other trees on plots.  We are drawing up a plan of work for the overhanging trees with our regular tree surgeon, Richard.  Please will all tenants check whether any trees on their plot exceed the maximum allowed height of 3 – 4 metres (specified in your tenancy agreement), and if they do, make a plan to get them pruned asap.  If you are unsure when to prune, look at these links to the Woodland Trust or the Orchard Project advice.  And if your trees are too tall to do yourself, get in touch with us at info@shepherdshillallotments.co.uk and we can help put you in touch with the tree surgeon to quote for the work required.

Manure
For those who have placed a manure order with Bruno, the deliveries will run on 3 days: Tues 12th, Wed 13thand Thurs 14th October.  NO PARKING in the trading shed yard on these days.  There will be no deliveries to the ‘parking bay’ at the far end of the Wood Vale track due to theft problems last year.  NOTE: the manure is ONLY for those tenants who have placed an order.

Water
We are continuing to investigate the drainage problem that is flooding the Wood Vale track.  We may have to turn off the water earlier than usual at this end of the site to test whether the water is coming from a pipe or an underground spring.
