Reminders

  • Don’t forget to order your potatoes, shallots and onions from Annie. Details in previous email – all still available except Premiere.
  • The trading shed will go on to winter hours – open fortnightly instead of weekly - from the 30th October (13th, 27th November, 11th December, 8th, 22nd January, 5th February) until Potato Day on 12th February.
  • Don’t forget that if you’re considering giving up your plot you need to give notice by 1st Dec to avoid incurring rent for 2023.
  • And a reminder that if you have a large plot that you’re finding difficult to manage, do get in touch.  We have a very long waiting list and it may be possible to split your plot.

Wanted
A wheelbarrow handyperson who is willing to do some occasional maintenance work on the communal wheelbarrows.  Please get in touch at info@shepherdshillallotments.co.uk

New committee members needed!  The AGM is coming up next month and the committee is keen to find for new members.  No experience necessary.  It’s a great way to get more involved in the allotment site.  If you would like more information and to talk to a committee member, do get in touch at info@

Food Bank
The Food Bank will stop collecting for the winter months. Anyone who wants to donate surplus produce can do so directly by dropping fresh produce off at the Methodist Church on Middle Lane but only on Wednesdays. The Food Bank passes on their thanks to everyone for some great produce and are looking forward to collecting again in Spring.

Recipe of the month
At the last Barn lunch there were requests for Julie’s delicious apple cake recipe!
