BARN DISCUSSION AND LUNCH THIS SUNDAY 23RD APRIL
Discussion 12-1pm on soil enhancers, plant foods etc.  Come along and find out what’s in all those bags in the trading shed and how you can use them on your plot.  Followed by lunch 1-2pm.
 
FUTURE BARN EVENTS
Sunday 7th May – post-coronation maintenance working party!!  Meet 10am at the trading shed.   The maintenance team have identified some urgent jobs where help is needed – including improving weak points in the perimeter fencing, and mending wheelbarrows.  Do come along and help if you can.
 
Monday 22nd May – Art at the Barn 10.30 – 1pm These new sessions at the Barn have proved a great success and Phil Hood will be facilitating another one – write into info@shepherdshillallotments.co.uk to book a place.  £6 (cash) on the day.

Sunday 18th June: Esther’s ever popular bee talk Esther will continue her series of talks on bee-keeping through the seasons 12-1pm followed by lunch 1-2pm.  At her last talk there was standing room only so come early to get a seat!
 
TRANSITIONAL AGM
At our last AGM in November 2022 it was agreed to move the AGM to Spring to fit better with our end of financial year.  This year we are going to hold a very brief (10 min) transitional AGM on Sunday 18th June immediately following Esther’s talk; the next full AGM will then be held in Spring 2024.
 
PLANT SALE
Sunday 14th May 12 – 3pm.  More details to follow shortly, make sure this date is in your diary. 
 
COLLABORATIVE MARK-MAKING & CONVERSATION: RESEARCH EXPLORING ALLOTMENTS AND COMMUNITY GARDENS
We have received an invitation to participate in research by a lecturer in communication design at Camberwell College of Arts and a PhD researcher in the School of Communication at the Royal College of Art, London, who is exploring how individuals and groups relate to their experiences of growing and being part of a community.  You can find some more information on the project here: https://growingdrawings.com  If you are interested in being involved please let us know by writing into info@shepherdshillallotments.co.uk and we will coordinate a group response to the researcher.  
 
REMINDERS
A reminder that SHA Association has membership of RHS which gives 50% discount to the following RHS gardens: Wisley, Hyde Hall, Bridgewater, Harlow Carr and Rosemoor.  If you would like to borrow the RHS card to visit one of these gardens please write into info@shepherdshillallotments.co.uk
 
We’ve had complaints from tenants who are finding raw meat on their plots, buried by foxes – for health and safety reasons please DO NOT feed raw meat to foxes.
